The Dart Roll is our traditional sharing sized picnic blanket, designed to be used in all seasons. It has the hardiness to withstand any weather and keep us comfortable whenever we can get out on an adventure. It splits into two parts so you can use the tweed blanket independently and comes with a green organic hemp canvas storage bag.
Our Large Dart Rolls are now available for Pre Order only and will be available next year. We have stock of our Standard size Dart Roll which is still a fabulous family picnic blanket and the one we choose to use as a family of four. We have also introduced the Large size in our Bothy Tin Harris Tweed, a beautiful addition.
This product also comes with free personalised leather stamped message should you wish to add one, see below or email the details. Or we can substitute all the leather straps for Hemp. More product details listed below.
Our Dart Roll now comes in two sizes which are all made to order so there may be a few days to wait once ordered:
Standard Size - £225 is 1.08m x 1.38m
Large Size - £325 is 1.38m x 1.88m
Leather work is made to order so these can take a few weeks or so, we will email and advise a delivery time.

To our European and Scandanavian friends, after Brexit, there is a chance you could be subject to an import fee in your home country. However we have since heard reports that some of our customers are not receiving a fee. Which is great news. However we do have to say there is still a chance this may happen, that you may be subject to an import tax (approximately 20%) when the package arrives in your country.
The Detail
The pictures shown here are of the Harris Moss tweed fabric, the last picture shows the Harris Rush fabric on one of our Ramblers Rolls.
For the blanket element of our Dart Roll we have chosen to use a classic heritage handwoven wool tweed from the Scottish Island of Harris. It doesn't get any better than this and with our complimenting style of deep blue Organic wax cotton water resistant base, gold cotton edges and contrast granite cotton thread we believe we have created a new classic.
Investing in a tweed blanket such as this needs some respect, we have designed the Field Rug so that you can remove the wool tweed. This can be helpful for cleaning or more importantly to use as a stand alone blanket. It is a beautiful item and needs to be used, loved and cherished wherever and whenever possible. Not just tucked away for the odd picnic.
Size when rolled is 55cm x 12cm round. Our Dart Roll now comes in two sizes: Standard Size unrolled is approx 1.05m x 1.40m, Large Size is 1.40m x 1.90m. The last few images attempt to show the difference in size between the standard and large Rolls when in use.
Comes with Devon oak bark leather straps, Organic Hemp canvas carry bag.
We can also personalise this item with a small hand stamped message, be it a date, name; What3words location or my favourite an Ordnance Survey Grid Reference of a favourite place. This message would be stamped onto the front badge of the canvas storage bag.
Learn more about the materials
Because we choose to use only the highest quality wax cotton. In warm weather there is a chance of the wax finish from the wax cotton base layer transferring onto your clothes, please be aware of this when wearing light coloured clothing in the summer or ensure your sit on the Harris tweed blanket if overly concerned about this issue. The chance of this happening is lessened with age and use.
