For me personally I love carving things out of wood, I can get lost there. It requires a level of focus and concentration which also becomes a calming and almost medatitive practice.
I will also add some of my latest spoons up for sale as and when they are finished. These are all very individual and listed as such. I carve them all by hand using and Axe and Knives only. They are a joy to carve and a joy to use, there’s something so much more warming about a wooden utensil. I love the feel of them in the hand, perfect for porridge, soups, stews or hot puddings. One of my all time favourite things to carve is my design for the Pocket Teaspoon. A little travelling companion to save on single use cutlery at coffee shops but also an adventure spoon, a keepsake and token wooden talisman.
This is a small leather backed strop which is used for keeping your knives sharp. Made in very limited numbers. Designed for Spoon Carvers and wood workers but also useful for opinel picnic knives.
The other side can be used to attach a strip of fine sandpaper too for the first stage of sharpening your knives or axes. I will include a small strip already attached. They are avrious sizes and may differ slightly from those shown. They are approx 25-30cm long and from 5cm wide.
You can use a small amount of honing paste or metal polish into the leather, then draw you knife blade across to polish and hone your blades. This should be done regularly to keep your knife sharp.
